It was me who created
This situation.

I did it through years
Of neglect. 

Taking care of one thing,
To the detriment of something else.

Taking care of one person,
To the detriment of someone else.

This body of mine
Is a case in point.

Never gave it the proper attention,
And now what?

It’s not so much the doing,
But the lack thereof,

Which causes the damage
That cannot be repaired.
